Leadership.
Communication within a Business is vital for success.
To avoid communication breakdowns, practice these communication principles:
THE RULES OF EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION
1. Develop trust – It’s not automatically given; it must be earned.
2. Openly communicate more than you have to or need to. Make it your top priority.
3. Be as specific as possible in the words or phrases you use.
4. Supply whatever background information and reasons people need to understand changes.
5. Be absolutely honest with all employees.
6. Actively share information and feelings. (Yes, people have feelings in the workplace too.)
7. Talk to employees as one adult to another (the way you would like a leader to talk to you.)
8. Always solicit ideas, suggestions and reactions from your team.
9. Follow through, always – no exceptions.
10. Recognize that the job of the leader is to remove roadblocks, irritants and frustrations, not to put them there.
Remember team members are important and want to be treated that way. They want to feel that they belong and that their work makes a difference.
If they aren’t made to feel this way, they’ll work just hard enough to get by. Don’t let that happen to your company! Ensure your Communication is great.

Make sure you show appreciation to your valued and regular customers. Never take your Customers for granted.
Research undertaken showed that people stop buying from you because …
1% – They die
3% – Move House
5% – Buy from a Friend
9% – Sold by a Competitor
14% – Product/Price
68% – Perceived Indifference
It basically tells you that 68% of clients leave because there is a perception of Non-Caring ie you did nothing to show you cared.
Saying thank you is powerful. But you have to make it a habit. Again, since no one is taking the time to say thank you, you WILL stand out!
And our course Christmas is the ideal time to show your appreciation and gratitude for your Customers. For if we did not have repeat Customers, we would not have a Business.

Most people and Business Owners spend the majority of their time being reactive. They react to emails, phone calls, the needs of clients, co-workers, friends, significant others, family members, deadlines and whatever life puts in front of their nose.
This reactive way of being, is habitual for many people. You might even take pride in how quickly and effectively you can react to the many things coming at you, putting out fires left and right.
If you don’t make time to be proactive, eventually you will have to make time to be reactive and your life will eventually be dominated by reactive activities.
For example, if you don’t make time for health, eventually you will have to make time to react to being sick and if you don’t make time to market your business, eventually you will have to scramble to get some clients before you go bankrupt.
So what is a proactive skill set? Proactive activities include things like goal setting, strategizing, systemising, growing your Business, developing your Team and planning. Being proactive also means sticking to your plan and not getting easily distracted, executing the actions you have intended.
Take charge - set new and stronger boundaries with yourself and with others that will allow you to be more proactive. It feels good!

I have just returned from the Action Coach Australasian Conference. The following is the value I believe you get from attending Training and Conferences:-
· New ideas and strategies;
· More motivation and focus;
· Mixing with like minded people;
· Hearing from the best in your Industry;
· Being able to plan for the coming year.
What does it cost to miss a Conference and Training? I would suggest it could be $10,000’s. Make sure you keep up your knowledge and motivation by attending every possible event. It is an investment in your better future.

Simple message … your Business is like a tree, it is either growing or it’s DYING …
Too many business owners, especially in tougher economic times, are trying to maintain the status quo.
You’ve got to focus on growth … WHY ? Simple, if revenues remain the same, costs continue to rise and profits continue to decline.
Only with growth of the business, can you maintain a growth in profits …
Stay focused on improving, growth and leadership, not just managing and keeping what you have.
The business world will very quickly pass you by if you are not always growing …

In Business, you are sure to face some roadblocks and setbacks to Business Success.
Winston Churchill said “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”
The question is, when roadblocks and setbacks come your way when you’re pursuing a Business goal - what do you do? Do you give up or do you push on with great determination and try again until you do succeed? One action will result in the achievement of your dream; the other will result in a life half lived with a big dose of regret to come later on.
Ask yourself today, ‘What am I going to do next time something tries to stand in between me and my dream, give up or press on and shout from the rooftops ‘IT SHALL BE DONE!’ That’s what Business success is all about.
